Designing a ‘Vaastu compliant’ house on a hilly site which is steeply sloping south-east was a big challenge as well as a learning opportunity. There is no ancient text (that I have yet come across) which clearly gives directions on building on ‘mis-oriented’ sites, especially hilly ones. Final design evolved in a collaborative manner with ‘Studio DV’ through a ‘common sense ‘ and ‘site responsive approach’ that respected the site’s natural drainage patterns and ‘MADE MOST OF WHAT SITE OFFERED’, especially phenomenal views. We focused on what we ‘HAD’ instead of what we did not….and final result was very satisfying.
